What is Web Check-In (WCI)?
A new feature on AirJamaica.com that allows customers to:

  • Check-in for all flight segments on all Air Jamaica operated flights between 4 and 24 hours before scheduled departure.
  • Enter passenger information, passport number, emergency contacts, etc.
  • Select a seat.
  • Print check-in confirmation.

What do I need for Web Check-In?
Eligible passengers will be required to provide the following information to access web check-in:

  • Full name as it appears on travel documents.
  • Record Locator, or departure date & Flight Number.
  • Passport number.
  • Personal and emergency contact Information.
  • Printer.

Who can use Web Check-In?
A passenger will be eligible to use Web Check-In if:

  • Traveling on an electronic ticket issued for travel on Air Jamaica operated flights.
  • The passenger is booked on a flight departing within 4 – 24 hours.
  • No more than nine (9) persons are booked on the itinerary.

Are there any special circumstances in which I can’t use Web Check-In?
You are not eligible to use Web Check-In if:

  • Traveling in a group of ten (10) or more passengers.
  • Traveling with a pet.
  • An infant (under 2 years old) is booked on the same itinerary.
  • Passenger is an unaccompanied minor, i.e. under age fifteen (15) years traveling alone.
  • Passenger has special service needs, e.g. requiring wheelchair assistance or oxygen.
  • Passenger is holding a paper ticket.

Can I use Web Check-In if I bought my ticket at a travel agency?
Yes. All reservations are eligible for Web Check-In provided you have an Electronic Ticket issued for travel on Air Jamaica.

Can I provide my 7th Heaven information to earn miles at web check in?
Passengers using Web Check-In will be allowed to enter their frequent flyer information to earn 7th Heaven Rewards credit on qualifying trips.

Can I pay for an upgrade to Lovebird Executive Class at web check in?
Upgrades are currently unavailable using Web Check-In. Passengers who wish to upgrade to a higher class of service, may complete the check-in process in their booked class, then proceed to the specially marked Web Check-In counter at the airport for further assistance.

Can I use Web Check-In for my return flight if it is less than 24 hours?
Web Check-in is available for all flight segments on Air Jamaica and Air Jamaica codeshare flights between 4 and 24 hours before departure. Passengers will be prompted to check-in for the return flight if it is within 12 hours of scheduled departure.

How do I print my check-in confirmation?
After the required information has been provided, a check-in confirmation showing an Agent and a Customer Copy will be generated. Both copies should be carried to the airport along with e-ticket information for presentation at the specially marked Web Check-In Counter in exchange for a valid Boarding Pass.

What if I am unable to print the check-in confirmation, or I print it and then lose it?
Passengers who are unable to print or have misplaced their check-in confirmation after checking in via Web Check-In, may reprint it using Web Check-In, or obtain a valid boarding pass at the airport from an Air Jamaica agent at the Web Check-In Counter.

Can I cancel or make changes to my flight after checking in via Web Check-In?
Changes or cancellations will not be facilitated online. Customers must send this request via email to webcheckin@airjamaica.com or contact an Air Jamaica Representative at 1-800-523-5585 (outside Jamaica), 1-888-359-2475 (from Jamaica) or at the Check-In Counter at the airport to cancel check-in or to make changes to flights or seat assignments.

What if I have bags to be checked?
After checking in via Web Check-In, passengers with bags to be checked should proceed to the specially marked Web Check-In counter at the airport a minimum of hours prior to scheduled departure time so that baggage may be tagged and security checks carried out.

What if I have overweight/excess baggage?
Passengers with baggage exceeding the free allowance will be required to pay the applicable charges at the check-in counter. Bags exceeding 70lbs. will not be accommodated and must be sent via cargo. Excess baggage will only be accepted for transportation subject to the availability of space and other restrictions. Click here for more information.

What do I do when I get to the airport?
After checking in via Web Check-In, passengers with bags to be checked should proceed to the specially marked Web Check-In counter at the airport a minimum of 1½ hours prior to scheduled departure time so that verification, baggage and security checks can be carried out.
International passengers with no checked bags are required to proceed to the Web Check-In counter at the airport at a minimum of 1 hour prior to scheduled departure for the relevant document checks and verification.

Passengers flying solely within Jamaica with no checked bags are required to proceed to the Web Check-In counter at the airport a minimum of 45 minutes before scheduled departure for verification.
Please note: Failure to arrive at the specified time may result in the reassignment of your seat, cancellation of your reservation and/or ineligibility for denied boarding compensation.

What if the spelling of my name on ticket differs from my travel documents?
In order to use Web Check-In, the information entered must match the reservation record exactly.  If the information is not the same on both the ticket and travel documents, the passenger will be unable to use Web Check-In. Security requires that the ticketed name match exactly the travel document i.e. Sue cannot be used for Susan or Bob for Robert.  The ticket must be reissued to match the travel document prior to going to the airport, or proceed to the ticket desk to make the change, after which you may proceed to the Check-In counter at the airport a minimum of 2½ hours prior to scheduled departure for normal check-in.
