At Reservations
Passengers who require the continuous/intermittent use of pure oxygen during flights will be accepted on non-stop or direct (no change of plane) flights, subject to specific conditions
Passengers requiring pure oxygen on board Air Jamaica must notify our Reservations Department at least 48 hour prior to their departure date.
An Air Jamaica medical form must be completed and signed by the Passengers’ physician and submitted for final authorization to Air Jamaica’s medical appointed Doctor. Once travel has been authorized final authorization will be confirmed to Passengers via the Special Services Desk. Medical forms are available at Air Jamaica - Ticket Offices, Air Jamaica - Special Services Desk, and Travel Agencies.
A non-refundable and non-discountable fee of US$100.00 or the equivalent will be charged for each cylinder provided, even if not used or partially used.
Medical Statement
A written medical statement as outlined below must be faxed to our Reservations Department at least 48 hours before departure and the original be kept by the passenger at all times.
Written statement must be from the passenger’s attending physician declaring:

Passenger’s ability to travel with or without an attendant

That passenger is qualified to administer his/her own oxygen at the stipulated rate of flow, or if an attendant who is considered qualified by the doctor is required to accompany the passenger

The rate of oxygen flow (continuous or intermittent whiffs)

The rate of oxygen flow, liters per minutes (LPM), needed for pressure altitude corresponding to the aircraft cabin under operating conditions
-
The passenger or attendant understands the liters per minutes (LPM) so as to accurately maintain its rate.
At Check –in

In Flight
A maximum of two (2) oxygen bottles will be provided per passenger. On any flight, only one passenger requiring this service will be accommodated in each class.
Passengers requiring oxygen is responsible for their own supply before boarding the flight and immediately after arriving at the destination.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations do not permit the use of personal oxygen cylinders on board and these will be emptied prior to boarding and returned to the passenger on arrival at the destination
Minors
Minors under 15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at least 16 years old, who is capable of operating the oxygen cylinder and attending the person’s physical needs.
